Day Day 1 : Umbwe Gate to Umbwe Cave Camp (2,850m)
Depart Moshi and drive to Umbwe Gate. Begin steep ascent through dense rainforest. Trail follows a sharp ridge to Umbwe Cave Camp.
Day Day 2 : Umbwe Cave Camp to Barranco Camp (3,950m)
Continue climbing along a narrow ridge. Vegetation thins as you enter heather and moorland zones. Arrive at Barranco Camp, one of the most scenic camps on the route.
Day Day 3 : Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp (4,035m)
Climb the famous Barranco Wall—a thrilling scramble. Continue across ridges and valleys to Karanga Camp for rest and acclimatization.
Day Day 4 : Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp (4,640m)
Short ascent to Barafu Camp. Enjoy views of the summit and glaciers. Early dinner and sleep before midnight summit attempt.
Day Day 5 : Summit Day: Barafu to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) & descend to Mweka Camp
Midnight departure for summit. Reach Stella Point at sunrise and continue to Uhuru Peak. Celebrate at Africa’s highest point before descending to Mweka Camp.
Day Day 6 : Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
Final descent through rainforest to Mweka Gate. Receive your summit certificate and transfer to Moshi.
