Sample Trip Outline
Day Day 1 : Nairobi to Chogoria Gate & Trek to Mount Meru Bandas (2,950m)
Depart Nairobi early and drive to Chogoria Gate (2,950m). Begin a short trek through rainforest and bamboo to the Bandas campsite. Overnight in tents near the gate.
Day Day 2 : Bandas to Lake Ellis Camp (3,400m)
Hike through heath and moorland with incredible views of rolling hills, Lake Ellis, and the Gorges Valley. Set camp at Lake Ellis and enjoy sunset by the lake.
Day Day 3 : Lake Ellis to Lake Michaelson (3,800m)
Ascend gradually with stunning views of Mugi Hill and Nithi Gorge. Descend slightly to camp beside the emerald waters of Lake Michaelson in a glacial valley.
Day Day 4 : Lake Michaelson to Point Lenana (4,985m) & descend to Met Station (3,000m)
Early summit push to Point Lenana to catch sunrise from Kenya’s second-highest point. After photos and rest, descend down via the Naro Moru route to Met Station.
Day Day 5 : Descend to Naro Moru Gate & Transfer to Nairobi
Trek downhill to the park exit. Transfer back to Nairobi with a scenic drive through the central highlands. End of tour.
