This 4-day Marangu Route trek offers a fast-paced Kilimanjaro climbing experience, perfect for experienced trekkers or those on a tight schedule. Known as the “Coca-Cola Route,” Marangu is the only route with hut accommodations along the trail. You’ll ascend through rainforest, heather zones, and alpine deserts, reaching up to Horombo Hut before descending. Though it doesn’t summit Uhuru Peak on a 4-day plan, this trek provides incredible altitude exposure, iconic views, and a powerful short adventure on Africa’s tallest mountain.

Sample Trip Outline
Day Day 1 : Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut (2,700m)
Depart from Moshi or Arusha to Marangu Gate. Register and begin your ascent through rainforest, with chances to spot blue monkeys and birds. Hike for 4–5 hours to Mandara Hut. Dinner and overnight.
Day Day 2 : Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut (3,720m)
After breakfast, hike through heath and moorland zones with views of Mawenzi Peak. Arrive at Horombo Hut in the afternoon. Acclimatization walk possible. Overnight at the hut.
Day Day 3 : Descend from Horombo to Marangu Gate
Early breakfast and start descent back to Mandara Hut, then down to Marangu Gate. Enjoy scenic views on the return hike. Receive a certificate of achievement (if applicable). Transfer to Moshi or Arusha.
Day Day 4 : Departure / Optional Rest Day
Relax at your hotel or enjoy optional cultural tours or hot springs nearby. End of program.
